01 — The motor car

A proper motor car
for an extraordinary day.

The Silver Spur is the long-wheelbase expression of Rolls-Royce’s early SZ-generation saloon: built at Crewe, unhurried in character and unusually generous to those travelling in the rear.

This example is being conserved, not reinvented. Original leather, polished veneer and family history will be preserved wherever sensible, while safety and reliability remain absolute.

06 — The family story

A family motor car,
carefully preserved.

The car has been part of the Irving family story for many years. Its next chapter is a sympathetic restoration that respects what survives: the leather, the veneer, the engineering and the quiet atmosphere only an original motor car can carry.

Once complete, a limited programme of weddings will help keep it maintained, exercised and preserved for the generation after this one.

07 — Questions

The useful details.

If your question is not here, include it with your expression of interest.

Which photographs show the actual car?

The 2012 workshop photograph is a genuine archive image of the family car. The polished wedding and country-house photographs are clearly labelled AI-assisted restoration concepts: they show the intended mood, not the car’s current condition or a promise of its exact final finish.

Where will the car operate?

The initial service is planned for London and the Home Counties, normally within about 25–35 miles of the operating base. Longer journeys will be considered individually and quoted with all travel included.

When will bookings open?

Only after the restoration, specialist inspection, voluntary MOT, insurance and operating arrangements are complete. You can register interest now, but no date or price is binding and no deposit will be taken.

How many passengers can travel?

The long-wheelbase rear compartment is especially generous and ideal for a bride, groom or couple. Final comfortable capacity will be confirmed after the interior and seat-belt inspection.

Can ribbons match the wedding colours?

That is the intention. Ribbon colour and any other decoration will be agreed in advance and fitted without risking the paint, brightwork or original trim.

What happens if the car becomes unavailable?

A formal backup, substitution and refund policy will be published before deposits are accepted. A reciprocal arrangement with another established wedding-car operator is part of the launch plan.

Can customers drive the car?

No. The Silver Spur will be offered only as a chauffeur-driven wedding service and will never be available for self-drive hire.

Will it be available for proms or airport transfers?

Not at launch. The service will initially be limited to weddings and civil partnerships, subject to all applicable vehicle, insurance and licensing requirements.
