A wedding car should make the day calmer
The planned Irving Silver Spur service is built around a single family-owned 1982 Rolls-Royce and a simple idea: the journey should feel composed, personal and beautifully timed. The car’s long-wheelbase rear compartment gives generous space, while its understated Dark Oyster finish is intended to photograph well without competing with the occasion.
The car is being restored and is not yet accepting bookings. Expressions of interest are welcome, but dates and prices remain provisional until specialist safety work, reliability testing, a fresh voluntary MOT, hire-and-reward insurance and all applicable operating requirements are complete.
What the planned service includes
- A chauffeur-driven service; the car will never be offered for self-drive hire.
- Collection, route and timings agreed directly before the wedding.
- Wedding ribbons fitted without harming the paint or brightwork.
- Time at the ceremony for a composed arrival and photographs.
- An optional onward journey to the reception.
- A clear contingency, substitution and refund policy before any deposit is accepted.
Planning for London and the Home Counties
London wedding transport is often less about mileage than timing. Loading at a hotel, a registrar’s schedule, narrow venue access and traffic restrictions all matter. A sensible itinerary starts with postcodes and access instructions, then works backwards from the ceremony time with a calm buffer.
The initial operating area is planned around London and the Home Counties, normally within roughly 25–35 miles of the eventual operating base. Longer journeys may be considered individually once the car’s post-restoration reliability programme is complete.
Questions worth asking any classic-car operator
- Is the exact car in the photographs the car that will arrive?
- Does the insurance specifically cover chauffeur-driven wedding hire?
- How much waiting time is included?
- What is the breakdown or substitution plan?
- How many passengers can travel comfortably and legally?
- Are ribbons, photographs and the reception transfer included?
Those answers will be published clearly for the Silver Spur before bookings open.
